| The Fokker F.XX
"Silver Gull", a three-engined air liner with accommodation
for twelve passengers, is used on the European services of K.L.M.
and is the only Fokker commercial monoplane which has been fitted
with a retractable undercarriage, the wheels being arranged to swing
back into the tails of the wing engine nacelles. The construction
of the machine conforms to standard Fokker practice, with steel-tube
fuselage and an all-wood wing. Unusually large baggage accommodation
is provided, both fore and aft of the cabin as well as in the wing.
Fitted with three 712 h.p. Wright "Cyclone" engines, the
F.XX has a cruising speed of 158 m.p.h. |
